In 2008, after resigning from her corporate job, Tara Alexander accepted an English Teacher position for one year in Iksan, South Korea. While there, she marveled at the Asian culture and its street-style inspired her to become fearless in her sense of style. Ultimately, her passion and love for fashion were re-ignited. The following year she returned to the States and pursued a job in the Fashion Industry as a Senior Photo Stylist with DSW Inc.
Tara founded Style Mastery by T. Alexander in 2013. Style Mastery is a personal wardrobe and styling agency that serves its clients by offering services that guide them in transforming their style. Incorporating her love of vintage clothing, current fashion trends, knowledge of design, and her sense of style; she consults with clients who appreciate the connection of one’s personal brand to success in life. With personalized care and time, Tara assesses each client’s needs and style goals, then develops individualized plans based on their lifestyle and aspirations.
The Ohio State University alumna’s work and partnerships with non-profit organizations in Columbus, Ohio, are at the core of her heart to give back, especially to young women of color. As such, Tara enjoys helping young girls and women discover their style and purpose. She is a frequent guest speaker at Proyecto Mariposas Annual Summer Camp for Latina girls. She also served as the head Fashion Stylist for Young E.L.I.T.E Columbus annual fashion shows.
Additionally, Tara donates her time as a Personal Stylist at Dress for Success Organization curating looks for women entering the workforce. She has been featured in The Lantern, an OSU newspaper, and has been a contributing fashion writer for Role Model Magazine.
“My primary goal as a Personal Wardrobe Stylist is to help clients discover their personal style by creating an image they want by enhancing what’s already within.” – Tara Alexander
